Welcome to Sussex wine country
The Rother Valley in East Sussex has quietly become one of the most exciting wine regions in England. The low-lying landscape creates a warm microclimate with some of the highest sunshine hours in the country — and the result has been an extraordinary concentration of award-winning vineyards in a very small area. Six estates. Organic pioneers. Natural winemakers. Family vineyards producing everything from classic English sparkling to still Pinot Noirs that are changing what people think English wine can be. An hour from London. And most people haven't found it yet.

The difficult bit is choosing what to buy.

Buy six or more bottles at any vineyard and they'll ship them home for free. No lugging bottles on the train.

Good to know
What happens if it rains?▾
Tours run rain or shine. Tastings happen indoors, the bus is air-conditioned, and the Rother Valley gets some of the highest sunshine hours in England. You'll probably be fine.
Do I need to know about wine?▾
Not even slightly. The winemakers guide every tasting and they're used to welcoming everyone from first-timers to serious collectors. Just come thirsty.
Dietary requirements?▾
Vegetarian and vegan options available for lunch. Let us know when you book and we'll make sure everything's sorted.
Can I drive instead of taking the train?▾
You can arrange to meet the bus at the first vineyard if you'd rather drive. But honestly, the train is part of the experience. And you can enjoy all 12 wines.
How many people per tour?▾
Tours are kept to a comfortable group size. It's a great day for couples, friends, birthdays, or a group of you escaping the city.
Which train do I need?▾
Most tours: London Charing Cross or London Bridge to Robertsbridge, arriving 11:05. Return at 16:08. One route departs from Rye Station instead (10:46 arrival, 15:48 return). About an hour each way.
Can I book for a group?▾
Yes. Book individual tickets through the booking page. For larger groups or private bookings, get in touch directly.
